Sutton Bay December Update & Rattlesnake Round-Up

Dear Members,
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by family, friends and football! Winter has arrived at The Bay. We received approximately five inches of snow earlier this week along with some freezing rain, and high winds. And we still had members and guests in the fields having the time of their lives!

We still have some availability (16 rooms) for the Year End Hunt on December 5TH & 6TH. Come in Sunday afternoon, watch some football with us, hunt a couple days with us and load up your freezers for the winter with ½ price extra pheasants.

I am happy to announce that we had our second best gross revenue November in SB history. The Club is doing very well and we truly appreciate your support as we look to have our best December ever. We have a few memberships yet available, and again we thank you for your support in that arena. Member testimonials always carry the most weight when people select a Club. Club memberships are built through friendships. Please feel free to refer any friends interested, and I am happy to answer any questions and assist in the Membership process.

As many of you know, the Sutton Bay Cup was a HUGE success with a great time had by all, and it truly is our Member/Member. The only drawback is that the Sutton Bay Cup is every other year. However, rather than dilute that event by having it every year, we have decided to create another event for our Members in the off year with a different format.

The first biennial Rattlesnake Round-Up will be hosted at Sutton Bay on August 24TH through the 27TH. I have borrowed the format from one of my favorite events that I have played in at Shoal Creek in Birmingham, AL – The Thompson Cup.

The Rattlesnake Round-Up will be played with four person teams posting a combined 108 hole score over two days (Each player only plays 27 holes per day). You can sign up for the event as a single, a pair, triplets, or a complete foursome. The teams are formed with A, B, C, & D players based on handicap. We will balance out the teams that do not sign up as a foursome. The sheer beauty of this event is that while you score as a four person team, you never play with more than one other member of your team. We pair two members of each team with two members from another team. Thus you have the opportunity to meet many other members of Sutton Bay.

This format played at Shoal Creek invites great Clubs from all over the world, and it is so much fun to play that it brings in a “who’s who” list of clubs. We knew we needed a great format to even try to compete with the incredibly popular Sutton Bay Cup, and trust me this is definitely it. Please see below the format and schedule for the 1ST Rattlesnake Round-Up.
